Lord Ram and Laxman are greeted in Mithila by curious civilians wanting to know if They are the demigods who have descended in the city. Having interacted with a few of them, Lord Ram and Laxman witness the chariot-procession of “Pinaka.” Amid the roaring rivalry and celebratory gusto, Lord Ram happens to spot Devi Sita. Both of Them share glances, but are interrupted by Lord Laxman and the sisters respectively. Lord Ram is enamored by Sita Devi’s beauty and countenance and describes the plight of His heart to His little brother. King Janak extends his invite to Sage Vishwamitra who gracefully declines the proposal citing various reasons. Having witnessed a change in the disposition of His brother, Lord Laxman approaches the Sage to allow Lord Ram to participate in the ceremony. However, the sage does not budge. In Mithila, Devi Sita decides to visit the temple of Parvati Devi as the husband-choosing ceremony is to take place the following day.
